786 Club visit to Pearl Harbor

We invite all members to book your air and hotel reservations ASAP to join us in a “thank you salute” to the officers, crew, spouses, and children of the USS ILLINOIS in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Arrival would be on Sunday, January 26, a day of rest and recovery from the flight. Events will be organized during the week for the spouses and crew, as well as for the children of the USS ILLINOIS. These are under development as of October 2019. There will be ample time in between these events for you to tour Oahu and see the sights, which are plentiful, Including the Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin (SS-287) Submarine Museum & Park, and the USS Missouri (BB-63). We will also try to schedule a tour of the USS ILLINOIS or, if operational considerations allow, a VIP submerged day trip off Oahu. The final event will be on Friday, January 31st. It will be a “Thank you and Salute” to as many crew, spouses, and submarine staff personnel that we’re able to invite from the 16 Pearl Harbor-based submarines, 2 Squadron Staffs, and the COMSUBPAC staff. This event will be funded and organized by the 786 Club from generous donations from Mr. Mark Carr, President of InterOcean Capital (an affiliate of Charles Schwab & Co.), Charles Schwab & Co., and other generous donors. It is likely to draw hundreds of persons for an evening of fun and pupus (Hawaiian hors d’oeuvres), most likely at the beautiful Joint Officers/Enlisted Club on Hickham AFB on the waterway entry into Pearl Harbor. Make sure your dues are up to date as are all those who are attached to your sponsorship.
